What Is Your Idea About My Home Country, Finland?

We are known for ‘Sauna, sisu and Sibelius’ but what do you know / think about us as people or the country as a whole?
(Sisu means sort of ‘guts’ but much more, we go through thick and thin and grey stone. Sibelius was a Finnish composer. Sauna you know, I hope? :-)

PLEASE ANSWER TO YOUR BEST ABILITY. PICTURES INCLUDED WOULD BE NICE, AS WELL.

    When I think of Finland, I think of cold, and of Europe, and of the descriptive word ‘Finnish’. That’s all.

    I have a friend who is "Finish American" second generation. Everyone in her family has blond hair and blue eyes.

    Very quiet people, language very different from other countries of Scandinavia, high standard of living, beautiful women, lots of lakes, extreme cold weather, home of Santa Claus, sauna, vodka and Nokia.

    Never heart about Sisu and Sibelius…sorry.

    Wish to visit your country someday.

    SUOMI is one of my favourite countries in the world. :) Been there on two occasions
    (in summer, in winter) and speak enough finnish to have done theatre in it. Finns are
    down to earth, more accepting of others than most Euros, while proudly + stubbornly
    maintaining their culture and language which are quite unique. For music, obviously I
    enjoy Sibelius (partially because my father interviewed him once) but I also like rock,
    i.e. Hanoi Rocks, Nightwish, Leningrad Cowboys, Children of Badoon, Havana Black

    What comes to mind when I hear Finland is:

    - Cold and snowy in winter, or cool and green in summer
    - VERY quiet, introverted people who give short replies to questions
    - Fair complexions
    - VERY close to nature and there’s lots of it
    - Vodka rules and it’s nice to warm up to
    - Bright light in homes for winter depression
    - Finnish people have no problem with nudity @ sauna or anywhere, like most Europeans
    - Wooden houses painted in bright colors
    - A lot of woodland, countryside, small towns
    - FINLANDIA
    - Heavy metal/hair bands
    - Healthy food: berries, crisp bread, seafood

    That’s it. :)
