What Can I Do to Help Stop Bad Breath?

My dad has been telling me that I have bad breath. He tells me he knows its because the smell is coming from my stomach. (I go to the dentist regularly.) Also I was reading a book to some of the causes of bad breath and these are some, lack of digestive enzymes, toxic overload, Candida, parasites, heavy metal toxicity. I don’t even know what these words mean other than parasites and I’m pretty sure its not parasites because otherwise I would’ve had other side effects. The book also said I can get cleansed by drinking raw apple cider vinegar, probiotics, and infrared saunas. Is there anything I can do about my bad breath? Please help. :)

typically if you brush and floss regularly it shouldnt be an issue.

if you do both and still have a problem, you may have some type of problem with reflux. do you get a bad taste in your mouth sometimes when you clear your throat? if so, it can easily be fixed by going to the doctor. he may recommend something along the lines of Prilosec.

but mostly, make sure you floss. that could be the root of your problem.

You certainly are well researched :-) As long as you floss well everyday, then it most likely is your stomach/digestive system. You can see results relatively quickly if you do the following things:
1.) Drink lots of water, green tea and peppermint is good too. NO coffee, alcohol, soda, or other processed drinks.
2.) No red meat, and make sure you are light on the animal protein. If you eat too much meat, or are having trouble digesting it, it can just putrefy in you guy causing bad breath. Eat lots of veggies, fruit, whole grains.
3.) If you do any natural remedy, probiotics is probably a good options.

So basically, eat a whole-food diet, low on animal protein, lots of fluids, and cooling/healing teas and veggies. Drinking aloe can help too.

If you are still having issues, you check with your doc to make sure you don’t have any underlying conditions with the lining of your stomach/intestines that cause chronic inflammation, digestive insufficiency, and hence bad breath. Good luck!

I read somewhere long ago that chewing parsley or fresh mint helps.

Check out these sources for more info:

Also I’ve bought these gel "pills" in the toothpaste section at Walgreens. You swallow them and they are supposed to help.

Brushing and flossing after meals will reduce the amount of decomposing stuff. There are cases of bad breath that originate from the things we eat, like garlic, liver, onions, and other things like that. Also, bad breath could be a side effect of medication or a symptom of a condition.

There are always the conventional ways of ridding oneself of bad breath, such as breath mints, gum, mouth wash, brushing the teeth, and other oral hygiene products like Dentiva which will give you relief – http://www.nuvorainc.com/dentiva.html
