Urgent Advice Needed! Will This Diet Help?

TO ALL SUCCESSFUL DIETERS!

Where I am now:
Height: 5’3/ 163 cm
Weight: 143 pounds/ 65kg
Age: 18
Spare time: About 45mins-1hr a day

Current Diet:
-No carbohydrates
-Meat, Fish & Tofu
-Veggies & Fruits
-No chocolates/ sweets/ fast food
-Snack on apples, melons & popcorn

Activities:
-Almost none, I don’t exercise much.
-Sleep at 11PM+ wake up at 6AM

So far, I have carried out this diet for a week and I’m worried as I see no results. My weight fluctuates between 143 pounds(65 kg) & 141 pounds (64 kg) only. I have never been so determined to go on a diet but it doesn’t seem to be working out for me.

Help!:
-Types of exercises to do to maximize calories burnt within 45-60 mins? (I have a sauna & gym at home. Will this help?)

-What should I change in my diet? (Go vegan?)

-I still eat meat. Is this bad?

-What should I expect from a no-carb diet? (Weight loss per week? Is it sustainable?)

-Suggested meals? (I cook myself)

Targets:
-Have a healthy lifestyle
-Be happy with my weight
-Feel fresher

Goal weight: 110 pounds (50 kg) [55kg by July?]

Please help me. I really want to start feeling good about myself and not be so self-conscious about my weight.

**IMPORTANT ADD-ON**
Is it true that a no-carb diet will only start having effect after a few weeks? If so, how much can I lose with such a diet?

Other Questions:
-If I do sit-ups/ push-ups/ run up and down stairs/ and train muscles with dumbbells will I have bulky muscles? (I prefer to be lean and toned)

-Will I lose weight on my chest? (I’m rather concerned about this factor if I start exercising)

-What types of meat can I eat? (Unless you propose going) vegan

    Hi..I dont know if I ll be of any help but as I am also trying to lose weight , I thought i ll tell you things that have worked out for me.

    Exercise:If you have an hour or so to exercise,I think you should try an exercise video.I strongly recommend turbo jam.Jillian Michaels has this shred workout program thats just 20 minutes a day.Depending on the kind of equipment u have in the gym, you can use the treadmill,or the bike or any cardio machine that u have for 45 mins in the morning.A jog or brisk walk maybe.Ofcourse u can mix it all up.Workout video one day and a walk the next so you dont get bored.Maybe you can start a few days a week and then add on to that.

    Sauna:I dont think u actually lose weight in the sauna despite contrary belief. Any weight u lose u ll probably gain back by drinking water.But not really sure about that

    Diet:Your doing great!Continue on the veggies,fruits and healthy snacking.And i do believe u should include all food groups in your diet.Meat s no problem at all as long as u keep an eye on portions and method of cooking.If u eat meat at lunch and dinner,each serving should be as big as your palm.And ofcourse less/no oil and healthy accompaniments

    Most importantly, If u dont see results in a week,it doesnt necessarily mean ur diet s not working. Just takes longer for some. If u continue eating healthy and exercise, I see know reason why u shouldnt achieve your goal by july!

    Wow..i was in the same boat as you! I was also juggling between 142-145 lbs and believe me, my diet is the same as you!! And i wasn’t really loosing any weight!
    So, now i’ve started drinking warm water with lemon in the morning before eating anything.

    Try drinking chinese green tea at bedtime because i find that when you cut out carbs, your not regular on the toilet! The tea keeps me regular and i feel amazing after wards ;)

    Also, i’ve increased my workout. I only did walking for 30 mins and now with the right guidance, i’ve been going to the gym for about an hour or two every other day.

    One other thing, hang an outfit that you wanna fit into. Everytime you wanna eat something that you shouldn’t be eating, go look at your outfit! It helps me control my bad habits :)

    I hope this helps a bit.

    I’m 141 now from around 145..it took 2 weeks though! That is sooo slow! lol

    Try drinking only water, cutting out soda and shakes etc as this helps weight loss in many ways and has other benefits too. drink around 8 glasses of water per day. About 60% of your body weight is water so it makes sense to have a healthy flow! Also try eating 5-6 smaller meals per day rather than 3 large meals. This helps metabolic rates and stops the urge for snacking.
