Is Going in a Sauna for 30-40 Minutes Effective for Losing Weight?

I already excercise and eat pretty healthy. I have 1.5-2 hours of swimming everyday but I have been sick for the past week and am unable to go to practice.

Many people says that it is harmful or they say that there are so many side effects from sauna. But don’t worry feel free to take a sauna for 30-40 minutes. It will be a great source of losing weight but you have to go daily at least for a month if you want to keep yourself smart .

my personal opinion is that this are just rumors. You probably loose some weight, but not so much that it will be really effective.

not really. it’s just water weight. the most it will do is make you dizzy and could make you pass out as it can effect your electrolite balance. walking for those 30-40 minutes is much more effective.

A sauna is about feeling good, cleansing skin. You never lose weight except a bit of water in a sauna.

Wants to lose weight? seriously? really seriously? Dead easy. Eat less exercise more, that’s all there is to it.

Next time you are in front of the TV, look at your right hand every 10 minutes. When you see something eatable or drinkable in that hand, just say to yourself "Dang, that guy from Nicaragua was right!" – you’ll hate me after a while :-)

You can loose 5-8 lbs in a sauna for that long , but, by the next day you’ll put it back on. You sweat out the water in your body and clean out your pours but will replace it quickly.

No. You will loose water weight which will dehydrate you and you may even overheat your brain and go into convulsions. You sweat out all the water from your system being in the sauna for that long. The electrolytes come with them. Your body has no way to conduct the electrical impulses it needs to move along to get the proper messages to your body and thus you convulse.

If you don’t convulse then you are lucky. It is still a bad idea. Plus you are only loosing water weight and the next day it will come back.

Try a proper diet, no soda pop of any kind, fresh food and lean meat. Don’t forget the whole grains.
