we have an infared sauna at the spa I work at. It is completely safe and effective! You can loose up to 300 calories in 30 minutes by sweating out toxins. You can set the heat level to your comfort so you don’t get over heated and it also increases the blood flow, so you need to drink lots of water so you can flush out the rest of those toxins. Hope this helps.
Happy sweating!
ok
The infrared rays help knock toxins loose from fat cells into the body, and those toxins are then released through sweating. So yes they do burn calories.
They may burn a lot of calories, but they may not be the safest or healthiest thing for you. Bear this in mind as well — your health should come first.
I think I’d pass out if I stayed for an hour.. But I’ve heard it does burn calories. I do it for 15 minutes maybe once a week and it also really helps with my skin. Makes me feel like I just had a facial! Love it!
ABSOLUTELY NOT!
‘Calories’ are energy. When you release energy, this makes you hot. Burning 600 calories an hour (by exercising) would heat your body up, and make you sweat.
The infra-red sauna (or any other type) puts extra energy into your body. This makes you hot WITHOUT the need to burn fuel internally. You will sweat, but not because of energy released from fuel (sugar and fat).
If you burned this much fuel (releasing heat) while the sauna was ALSO heating you up, then you would die within minutes from overheating.
